Oral History Tapes

CHAHP Project Partner the Stuart House Heritage Group has this week started to digitise over 80 oral history interviews. This project which will also involve some bullet point transcriptions will allow the files, until recently held in a private collection, to be backed up and stored in more than one location for safety. It also means the files will be able to accessed & listened to by the general public. The first tape digitised contains an interview with Mr. Honey a waggoner who has first hand knowledge of the loading up of the Moorswater Anglican Church (a large galvanised steel structure) and its moving to Dobwalls on two timber wagons & being pulled by a team of horses. He remembers the books & bell were still in situ as the whole structure was moved!
